Actus/Potentia refers to a specific philosophy of Joseph Beuys regarding his sculpture. Constantly examining the reality of specific materials and the potential of those materials to transform themselves, this is an exercise in reference- referring to the ‘reality’ of the material, and each material to the other, and ‘potential’… the innate potential in each material to become something else, to resemble other materials, to both mock and mimic and finally to create similar but differing realities.
