The Dress of the Sotah, which literally means the adulteress wife, addresses the painful ordeal depicted in the Bible in which a man who suspects his wife of committing adultery brings her before the high priests and forces her to publicly uncover her hair and drink a bitter water to prove her innocence.
The piece refers to her lack of privacy, the public humiliation and her sexuality which so troubled the Rabbis.
This piece will be on view at the Stadhaus Ulm, Germany, through summer 2019.
