Commissioned by the Jerusalem Print Workshop, this artist book addresses the proliferation of the use of acid in violent acts. This happens regularly in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Each face in this series, is a portrait of a real person who was violently attacked. There are 24 images of people from all over the globe, whose lives were destroyed in seconds. The very same nitric acid used in creating works of art, presumably works of beauty, is subverted into becoming a weapon of horrible destruction. I created these portraits and then, ruined them with acid.
