Male/female, Jewish/Palestinian ethnic garments have been appropriated and combined to create a hopeful framework for positive change.
Original Palestinian embroideries from various villages were borrowed from a vendor in the Arab souk in the old city of Jerusalem. Scanned onto linen in an Israeli printing shop and then sent to Ramallah to be sewn by Palestinian factory workers. An Israeli soldier hand tied the ritual fringes.
Thus each piece passed from Jewish hands to Arab hands and back and forth. These are child size as that is the only age in which peace education has any hope of creating a paradigm shift.
